Although Harvest Moon games like this usually focus around a plot of some sort, the over-all feel of the two games are alike. Both games allow you to grow and prosper the way you choose, whether that means growing crops and raising animals for products to sell in HM: ToT or digging fossils and catching bugs to sell in AC:CF.
